Q. My sex drive goes through the roof when I am manic & even on all my meds, Prozac, Lithium, Epilum & the Pill to try to control this, whenever I get stressed it flares up again. Sometimes Chlorpromazine helps but not all the time, is there anything else I can do.

  A. There are many things that are possible, but I do not know your diagnosis, and cannot tell you what is best for you. Obviously, if you still get manic, the lithium is not working. Discuss it with your doctor, and they can help with additions of other medications (Depakote, Tegretol, Lamictal, Risperdal, Geodon, etc.), These do not decrease libido directly, but they do control mania.
