Sometimes I Act Crazy : Living with Borderline Personality Disorder
Uk  Can by Jerold J. Kreisman and Hal Straus
"Brilliant! Easily the best book out there on BPD. All the new medication regimes and treatment regimes that weren't around when he wrote his first book on the subject 30 yrs ago. Hopefully this book will reach the same heights as his first book as the BPD Primer. Extremely concise, easy to read. I love this book. Read it.

Kreisman and Straus are also the authors of the BPD "Bible" I Hate You, Don't Leave Me : Understanding the Borderline Personality

Understanding Chronic Pain: A Doctor Talks to His Patients  Uk  Can  by Robert T., Jr. Cochran Very good book. Dr Cochran goes places that no one else goes. He talks about the psychological, psychosocial and psychiatric effects of chronic pain. He the first one to cover Conversion Disorder and Functional illness in a book of this type. This book is about treatment with medication, many different types of medication. After 30 yrs of treating chronic pain he very astute at treating it. I think that those who suffer should read with an open mind to the fact that what started out as in an injury may have transformed in to something different. He discusses the disease of the body and the mind. This isn't a feel better without medication and diet book. Thank Heavens.

Kirstin's Story: No Place to Stand  Uk  Can  by Jean Jardine Miller If your looking for a book about being a parent to a teenage Panic/Anxiety sufferer, than would be good. Ms. Miller has a very strong voice. She discusses having to be an advocate for her daughter and the frustrations that went with that. At times her words are so concise that it feels like she had little empathy for her daughter. But this isn't her daughters story, but a parents story. I wish the book had gone past the ultimate ending of her daughters suicide. It is very well written.

Beacon of Hope: A Guide to Internal Truth  Uk  Can by Marcia J. Lawton I enjoyed this book. It tells the story of a alcoholic who becomes a psychologist and her spiritual journey. It is interesting to hear the story from both that of an alcoholic and a Addictionolgist. Her voice is very clear. The role of spirituality and recovery is the emphasis of the book. If your in recovery this book would be helpful. Like an extended story from "Came to Believe" .

I'm Not Supposed to Be Here: My Recovery from Borderline Personality Disorder  Uk  Can  by Rachel Reiland, Laura Paxton. The book was good. The first person narrative was excellent but a few times felt receptive. Its an excellent first book. Mrs. Reiland has a very clear voice, and knows how to use it. At times I felt she didn’t take responsibility for her actions. I hate the word “cured” in terms of mental illness. I will very much agree that she was better, but not cured. She even talks about having to be on guard for returning behaviors. I have heard from many of the sufferers of the BPD who said that it was very good and accurately portrayed the disorder. So if you suffer from the BPD this is a good read and will help you see your own way thru this disorder.
