borderline personality disorder education, communities, support, books, and resources

Q. My question has to do with explaining to the people who handle accommodations at my law school why I need extended time and private room to deal with my exams. Making them understand that it is not test anxiety that gives me trouble. I have BPD. I know the material. But I get hung up, especially on multiple choice, because there is no totally correct answer, just choose the best. How do I explain this?

A. I don't know if/how I can help with your situation. Sometimes, a letter or note from your treating physician/therapist may be helpful in convincing your school to make the accommodations for you. I'm not aware of any literature or research one could cite to justify your request.
