Daymares
Hello: I have been having daymares (nightmares while I am
awake). They
seem to occur after some sort of prodromal stage: mild nausea followed by
a
darkening of my peripheral vision with a blurred tunnel straight ahead.
The
"dreams" have a recurring nature to them, although I cannot determine
their
meaning or purpose. Just when my curiosity is at a peak, an overwhelming
sense of anxiety comes over me and I shut the dream down. Fortunately, the
episodes have not occurred while I am driving. Am I crazy?
The symptoms you describe compass a number of neurological
conditions. I
would be inclined to get a full medical exam, including a blood workup, CBC,
etc. and MRI/CAT scan before jumping to the assumption that this is purely a
psychiatric condition. Remember, behavior, bidden or unbidden, is a
symptom
of an an underlying dynamic...and this one sounds like it may have a
neurological component.
