Marijuana and Effexor
I have been taking 300mg Effexor XR for about 5 years, I also
smoke marijuana about 4 times a week. I find that when I have taken my tablets I
am able to smoke without any bad side effects but when I haven't had my tablets
and inhale the smoke I get light headed and faint. Then when I wake up I am
shaking and very weak. What causes this? Is it something to do with the
marijuana affecting the chemicals in the brain? It scares my boyfriend and he
wants to know what causes the fainting spells.
I can't speak to this directly, but my guess is that there is
some interaction between the fluctuating serotonin levels in your system and the
THC in the marijuana that is causing the kinesthesia and fainting. Quit smoking.
And I'm not saying that to be a prig. I'm saying it because it's interfering
with your meds, and, hence, your health.
