Psychotropic Drug Side Effects
I have been taking Paxil for almost 10 years for depression and anxiety
and
was recently prescribed a mix of Wellbutrin with the Paxil. My complain about
Paxil is feeling numb emotionally and with the Wellbutrin, I feel kind of
"zoned" and not "with myself."
I don't want to have to choose between depression and this state, but it's
really frustrating to feel "removed" from myself.
I am tempted to change my dose or get off medication just to feel myself
again at some level.
Ideas? Suggestions?
Paxil should not numb your emotions. And Wellbutrin, if
anything, should
make you feel hyper, not zoned. It sounds like you may be having a
paradoxical reaction, or the meds are not suitable, despite their long term
administration at least in the case of the Paxil. Talk to your
psychiatrist.
