My name is Ali and I am a 42 year old Female. 

I am a 42 year old female professional (research coordinator-medical field). I have classic borderline personality disorder as defined in the DSM-IV. I have recently experienced my first major depressive episode (related to the death of a parent in 2001). This was accompanied with dissociation, 85 lb. weight loss and suicide attempts (only one not a gesture). I am interested in corresponding with a peer who has BPD and with any professionals who may care to provide their assistance. I have tried psychotherapy with poor results. I have had childhood psychological trauma, and unfortunately fit most of the 8 criteria for diagnosis of BPD. 
I am entering my second depressive episode and this is marked by the usual symptoms of depression along with the "back-ground" experience of extreme failure to achieve results via the professional and pharmacological routes. Please consider accepting my desire to volunteer to assist and be assisted in helping those who have this disease to at least come to survivable terms with it.
