My name is Donna and I am a 50 year old Female. I am a sufferer and a daughter
and brother of a sufferer.
My name is Donna Coley and I am Bipolar, also Borderline Personality and O.C.D.
My mother was bipolar as is my brother. I have a sister who is Borderline/O.C.D. so I have read every book under the sun on these
subjects (LOL)
I am willing to write/communicate with anyone who needs to talk-the person with the illness or
their parent or friend.
I just turned 50 years old and I am female. I was born and raised in Virginia and I only speak
English-but I speak it very well.
I was diagnosed in 1978 after several trips to the Rehab and many self induced cuts and
stitches. Over the past 25 years I have been placed on just about every anti-depressant known to humans-and they never worked because I
am-Bipolar. They just made me feel really awful and mean. I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality in
1999 and for a year I was in a group called D.B.T.(Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that
actually did help me a lot. I learned to control my outbursts and violence.
Over the past 25 years I have been through quite a lot-lots of meds-lots of cuts-
lots of different Doctors, lots of emotional outbursts, and a LOT of pain. BUT
I have also learned a lot-about my illness and something called Radical Acceptance.
Radical Acceptance is a D.B.T term and it means exactly what it says-accepting your illness with all of its ups and downs and dealing with it.
